Mualani’s updated kit released in the latest Genshin Impact 5.0 game leaks
The most recent leaks released for Mualani revealed the nerfs and buffs the character received. The leaks, which came from HomDGCat, highlighted different changes to the Mualani kit and weapons. Some changes include the damage dealt by her attacks, her speed, and more.
Mualani is a Hydro character and a Catalyst wielder who surfs using a shark surfboard. Mualani is one of the characters supposed to debut in Genshin Impact once version 5.0 launches. Mualani will feature alongside characters like Kazuha, Kinich, and Kachina.
Genshin Impact is an open-world role-playing game, now in its version 4.8. The version 5.0 upgrade will go live on August 27 and 28. Mualani and Kazuha will reportedly launch in version 5.0 phase one on August 28, while Kinich and Kachina will reportedly launch in phase two on September 17. HoYoverse will also have a version 5.0 live stream on August 16.

The leaks revealed that Mualani can deal with Normal, Charged, and Plunge attacks, each delivering a different level of AoE Hydro damage. The character can also deliver up to 3 attacks using the Normal attack. Charged attacks use Stamina to create a Puffball that the character can smack into the air, while Plunge attacks plunge to the ground and deal damage upon impact.
The character can also reportedly use the Surfshark Wavebreaker skill to gain 60 Nightsoul points and enter the Nightsoul Blessing state. Nightsoul’s Blessing consumes Nightsoul points but enables the character to use the Surfshark on water and liquid Phlogiston, increasing her movement speed.
Sharky Bite, Mualani’s elemental skill, received an increase in its cooldown from 1.6 to 1.8 seconds. Attacking using the elemental skill applies ‘Marked as Prey’ to opponents, and Mualani gains 1 Wave Momentum stack. 3 Wave Momentum stacks also allow Mualani to use Sharky’s Surging Bite. A Sharky Bite hitting an opponent ‘Marked as Prey’ removes the mark and allows Mualani to fire Sharky Missiles to up to 5 opponents ‘Marked as Prey.’
According to the leak, several other aspects of Mualani’s kit have been changed, including the Leisurely Metzli Constellation, energy boosts after obtaining her Pufferballs, Stormburst Shot skill, and Heat-resistant Water Puffer.
Players seemed ecstatic about the recent leaks, while others showed disappointment. Other fans don’t yet understand the full meaning of all the buffs and nerfs on Mualani’s kit.
