The crypto prices today have lost all the gains they managed to accrue on July 30. The majority of the tokens started the week on an uptrend, sending the prices to new weekly highs. However, the momentum looks to have faded as most of the coins are now trading in red.

Notably, some recent events have catalyzed the current downtrend including the recent BTC transfer by the United States government. Coinfomania previously reported that about 29,800 BTC was sent by the US government from Silk Road. This increased the selling pressure on the flagship cryptocurrency hence the recent crash. The BTC price has declined to $66k and ETH has failed to break past the $3.4 mark. At press time, the crypto market has lost 3.37% of its value to rest at $2.4 trillion.
