Spot Ethereum ETFs Set to Launch Today on July 23

The SEC has given final approval for spot Ethereum exchange-traded funds (ETFs) to begin trading in the United States on July 23. This follows the May 23 approval of rule changes allowing these ETFs to be listed on major exchanges.

Seven issuers have received approval, including industry giants BlackRock, Fidelity, and Grayscale. Most will offer competitive fees between 0.15-0.25%, with some waiving fees initially to attract assets.

Crypto News: BlackRock’s Bitcoin ETF Sees Largest Inflow Since March

BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) recorded $526.7 million in net inflows on Monday, its highest since mid-March. This led to a total of $533.57 million flowing into U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs for the day.

Since their January 2024 approval, spot bitcoin ETFs have accumulated $17.59 billion in net inflows and reached over $62 billion in total market cap. Bitcoin’s price hovered around $67,500 after briefly surpassing $68,000.

Grayscale Moves $1 Billion in Ethereum 

Grayscale transferred $1.01 billion worth of Ethereum to Coinbase Prime on Wednesday, preparing for the launch of its Ethereum ETF. This represents 10% of assets from its Grayscale Ethereum Trust (ETHE), which will be converted to the new ETF structure.

Cybersecurity experts have warned of a sophisticated new scam targeting cryptocurrency holders. Scammers send malicious links disguised as Zoom meeting invitations, often to NFT collectors or high-value crypto wallets.

When clicked, the link shows a fake loading screen and prompts users to download malware. Once installed, the malware can steal sensitive data and cryptocurrency assets. Users are advised to be cautious of unexpected meeting requests and to verify links before clicking.
