  • StaFi announces the support for EigenLayer liquid restaking token (LRT).

  • This aims to enhance security and efficiency across the ecosystem.

  • EigenLayer LRT is already supported on StaFi’s LSaaS stack.

StaFi, a staking infrastructure provider that aims to amplify staking capital efficiency, announces its support for the EigenLayer liquid restaking token (LRT). The integration of EigenLayer LRT aims to extend security across decentralized applications, allowing users to rehypothecate their staked tokens.

The integration is the latest development in the ever-evolving staking protocol, following the launch of StaFi’s liquid staking as a service (LSaaS) last month. Integrating LRT was one of the key steps in the recently released StaFi 2.0 roadmap.

“The integration of LRT into StaFi’s Liquid Staking as a Service is a major breakthrough for developers, who are now free to create restaking products that harness shared security across multiple chains,” said Liam Young, the founder of StaFi.

EigenLayer announced its mainnet launch in February, introducing a novel restaking mechanism that allows DApps that are required to build their own trust and security – or their own actively validated services (AVS) – to share the pooled security of Ethereum. Developers and project teams can now seamlessly deploy LRT on StaFi’s LSaaS, enhancing the efficiency of  LRT development and overall accessibility of restaking.

This allows developers to significantly cut the time to market while providing new infrastructure for builders to create innovative and next-generation DApps, as Young further explained.

“Up until now, building with LRT has been a complex task that entails significant lead time,” Young added. “StaFi’s LRT Stack will slash time to market while empowering builders to create novel solutions that draw upon the crypto economic guarantees that liquid staking permits.”

Several new functionalities will be added to the LRT Stack, including restaking, unrestaking, and withdrawal services; minting and burning LRT and staking pools. In addition, users will also be able to delegate and undelegate restaking operators directly on StaFi LSaaS. Users will be paid in AVS staking rewards for staking their tokens and securing DApps. These AVS rewards will be swapped for ETH in the market to facilitate  LRT/ETH pair construction.

These functionalities will be iterated with the upgrade of EigenLayer. As a result, developers and LRT operators will be able to construct their LRT with the aforementioned functionalities swiftly.

The integration of EigenLayer LRT follows support by the LSaaS Stack App with more stack apps also announcing their support, including Karak and BounceBit LRT. The team statement also mentioned plans to roll out support for BTC LRT in the coming months.
